hello, the name's, kennedy jane downing carlisle
but people tend to call me, kennie, ken, dee, kj
I turned , nineteen
on , february seventh
so that means I've been attending, usc
when the days over i like me some , boys
I've seen a palace in London,
I've seen a castle in Wales,
* skin deep - - - - - [/blockquote]
[/ul]
well, my hair is, brown
and I love my eyes, they're, brown
and my skin colors this really cool, bronze
mainly because I'm , american
I measure up to , five foot seven inches
no Seattle Sutton's for me ! the scale says , one hundred and twenty pounds
but it's kind of cool that I have , scars on my arms
and my style blows yours away , laid back, baggy, gangsta, low key
so over - all , kennedy has never been regarded as one of the best looking people in the world - though she's definitely a pretty girl. while most people will dye, curl, straighten and goodness knows what else, to their hair, kennedy has just never had the time. the long brown locks are almost all one shade, and hang in many layers around her shoulder blades. she has side bangs that cut in to cover one eye if she doesn't keep her hair out of her face, but that offer some sort of style to the plain and simple hair style she usually has. between the ages of one and four, she did a lot more with her hair, but once she was put into the foster care system, she stopped caring about it, and let it go to waste really. usually her hair is tied back in someway, or hanging straight under a hat of some sort. if she felt so inclined, kennedy could do a lot more with her hair, and it would probably attract more attention. as it is, she doesn't really care that her hair seems bland compared to the highlighted and styled hair of the los angeles elite. her whole thought on her looks is to be functional, not fashionable, and for her, this kind of style works for her. when it's down, it offers a good frame to her face, and actually looks pretty good. for the most part though, she tries not to wear her hair down, just because it irritates or distracts her. there's a lot of potential in her hair, but she hasn't the time nor patience to actually begin thinking about how to make the most of it - moreover, she doesn't really care, since she doesn't believe in looks affecting how people regard her.
as it is, kennedy's eyes are probably her favourite thing about herself, mostly because when she was little, everyone said she had her mother's eyes. her eyes are a pretty average walnut brown all over, but when there's good lighting or her clothes offer a change in color, the brown can turn more gold, and it glints when she smiles - which is more often than not lately. her brown eyes are easily accentuated by the thin brown eyebrows that she actually makes time to deal with. for someone whose as busy and unworrying about her looks as she is, she does take a little time out to make sure her skin and face is looking good almost all the time. her eyes are pretty, but when she gets nervous or shy, she has a nasty habit of looking down or hiding her eyes from people, something that doesn't really help her at all. though she hides her eyes on accident, when she smiles, her whole eyes light up and the smile comes over her whole face, not just her lips. you can always tell if she's faking a smile, because it won't quite reach her eyes, and then it's obvious that she's not being honest about her mood. while some people's emotions are almost readable through their eyes, kennedy's are not. she's good at hiding what she really feels, and she does that more often than she doesn't. her eyes aren't like an open book, except in the rare occasion when someone sees her having a panic attack, or if she gets excessively emotional. for the most part, her eyes are gorgeous, and they fit well with the rest of her - though they could look more gorgeous if she tried a little.
there's rarely a time in the day that dee isn't dancing, and so she's kept in great shape, something you can see in the way she holds herself, and the skin she shows off. she's never been ashamed of her body - unlike most girls her age, and so she always shows it off with the kind of clothing she wears. with a muscled stomach and toned legs, she has no problem wandering around in cropped shirts and shorts, though it'd be very out of character for her to do that. her arms are slim, since he doesn't do much with them, so her fists don't pack much of a punch - but it's mostly her legs you've got to look out for. growing up in a rough and tumble lifestyle has made her able to hold her own, and she'll use her best assets to take you down, and mostly it's the muscles in her legs. she loves the way her body is built, and though sometimes she wishes she was a little bit taller, she has no qualms about herself, and no one can tell her otherwise.
but people say I look like , briana evigan.

because, i have a rough past
I love, dancing, interesting guys, getting along with people, being on her own, not talking about her family, flirting, pranks, getting away with things, living on her own, being underestimated, being the underdog, music, music she can dance to, laughing, forgetting, showers, the rain, thunder, romantic movies, staying in, fuzzy slippers, sweatpants, hats, big jackets.
but I really despise, getting caught, police, her family, her past, opening up to people, cocky people, schoolwork, not being able to dance, injuries, constrictions, overachievers.
I personally think I'm pretty good at, dancing, fighting, being tough, not backing down, running, extremely observative, easy going, hard working.
though I should really work on , shyness, tendency to panic, has panic attacks almost daily, has one one kidney, abusive people, her past life, kids - especially ones in foster care / who lost family, talking about her feelings.
people tend to tell me I'm ,
talented because, i dance really well
scared because, i won't face my past [/ul]
but basically, I'm , a great word to describe dee, would be street smart. growing up in the kind of lifestyle that she did, there wasn't a lot of room for worrying about book smarts, it was about getting out into the real world and then surviving. along with this comes her being tough, and not willing to take people's shit without a fight. she's not fond of fighting, but if she has to do it to make her point, she's got really no problem doing so. violent isn't a word you'd associate with her, despite her toughness and her tendency to go headfirst into things instead of looking at them from all angles. she may fight herself out of things, but she does as little damage as possible, and is pretty squeamish when it comes to unneccesary injuries. she doesn't like to challenge people for no reason, and she's not someone who'll go out of her way to make problems with other people. she doesn't avoid conflict, she just doesn't like it so much.
While she may be a tough girl on the outside, she’s really like a normal girl on the inside – insecure, self conscious and constantly trying to make herself known for something. All her life she’s loved to dance, and that’s the one thing that makes her relax and loosen up, and show some true colours. When she dances, she’s happy to be seen as she is, problems and all, and she has no qualms with people watching her. She’s even good with people criticizing her dancing, because when she’s in that state of mind, it doesn’t matter what people are saying about her, because none of it matters to her. When she dances, she’s upbeat and optimistic, and things look good for once in her life. She can be flirtatious and funny without worrying about how people will see it, because it won’t matter when she feels like that. When she’s not worrying about life and how things will go next for her, she can be funny, inciteful, intelligent and interesting, but that’ll be quick to fade away. The only other times it really shows up, are when she’s with people who she finds trustworthy, people who she knows won’t judge her for being so fake on the outside. Otherwise, she goes back to the nervous, carefully meticulous, slightly worried girl who’s constantly haunted by a past that she wants to run from, and keep on running from.
Despite her past tendency to slack in her work and not worry about school and important things, studying dance at college makes her work harder than ever before. She spends her time in class, being observative and seeing things that not everyone else will see. Her spin on things makes her views unique, and that’s clear in the questions and answers she has during her classes. Her regular classes still bore her, but she’s come to understand how key they are to surviving, and so she’s managed to become a hard working student, though you might not guess it from her outward appearance and all. Part of her realization about school, was realizing that she didn’t have to give up a lot of what she wanted to do, to be successful. She’s started to reach for things that seem beyond her ability to achieve, but things that come within her grasp after work. You could call her high reaching, inspired, hard working, all of that just contributes to make her bust her gut in class, even if it means not being the top. The grades don’t matter to her in school, though she knows they’re important. What’s important to her, is taking the knowledge from her classes, and applying it to life, so she can do the things she loves, at a level which will support her in the long run as well.[/blockquote]

& the good and the bad, kennedy’s parents were good for each other, that’s what everyone always told them. they were perfectly fit together, their differences being complementary, and their similarities being in great areas. they weren’t high school sweethearts, and they didn’t actually know each other until their junior year of college. her mom made the mistake of dating one of the guy’s from her father’s fraternity, and when he kicked her to the curb, it was dee’s father who came outside to make sure she was okay, and to get her home on time. they dated for about two and a half years, seeing each other daily during college, and only for about an hour during the weekdays, but it didn’t matter to them – they were in love. finally he popped the question, and she immediately said yes, though it’d been hard to tell through all the tears. they were married within months, and soon had a daughter – dee’s oldest sister. within a few years, they had another son, and dee. add a few more years, and suddenly kennedy had four siblings to worry about, although only two of them were hers to look after. everything was going well for her family, until her parents got in a car crash that claimed both of their lives, and sent their kids to foster care, where they were separated and torn from each other.
kennedy was a sullen little kid, never really liking anyone, or making any effort to be adopted. the traumatic experience of losing her parents and her siblings in the same month, had made her cold hearted and closed it. a lot of the foster kids were rather afraid of her, seeing as she spent her time alone, not doing anything except for staring at the door, hoping her siblings would come back into her life by some unseen force. she was bounced around from home to home in her childhood, one year going through a record of eleven foster homes in twelve months. they complained that she was bitter, angry, wouldn’t talk, didn’t socialize, all the complaints that were a part of her emotional trauma. it wasn’t until she was eleven years old, that she met someone who changed her for the better. cameron street was a pretty rich boy, who the kids immediately made their target the minute he walked into foster care. for some odd reason, miss kennedy had it in her, to vouch for him, and make sure the other kids didn’t pick on him. in return, he got her to be less cold, to make friends, and to show the other kids that she wasn’t an alien, she was just a kid with a past that she’d rather not think about. he was the older brother she lost, and they were insperable.
when she was twelve, she found a permanent foster home to live in, and luckily enough, cameron had been fostered out to a home nearby, leaving her with a fresh start that looked up. things were fine for a few months, until her foster brother, the real son of her foster parents, began to get sicker and sicker. her foster father was constantly angry about it, and would take out his anger on kennedy, hitting her, throwing things at her, calling her as many names as he could think of. the only solace she had in all of that anger, was to run to cameron’s house, which had become her second home, and curl up in her arms and cry her eyes out. it helped that his foster mom always seemed to have good tasting food – that she willingly gave to kennedy. of course she lied about her injuries, to everyone except cam of course. she continued to take the hits, though she grew more and more evasive as she got older. finally, when she was fourteen, it turned out that her foster brother had a kidney tumor. to save his life, he’d need a kidney transplant – and unfortunately his blood type was rare. when her foster father found out she shared his blood type, he forced her to give up one of her kidneys to save a boy who she literally loathed.
after that, she grew into the typical rebellious teenager, making problems for her foster parents, making their lives as hard as possible. she got into drugs, drinking, though the sex was not included. she ran with the gangs out by her city, and finally pushed her foster father to the edge. he sent her to live with her foster aunt, who turned out to be a good influence on her. she was a hardworking widow, who took none of dee’s crap, and made her realize how fucked up things were for her. dee managed to make it through high school, though at seventeen her foster father decided to pay her a visit, and broke three of her ribs. it was then that she realized that as long as she was involved with his family, she had to be involved with him. so, when she turned eighteen, she moved out, and finished her senior year of high school living on her own. after that, she decided to stay in los angeles, and was accepted to usc to study dance and choreography. on her first day of dance class, she saw someone she hadn’t seen face to face since she was fifteen – cameron street. they’d continued contact when she left, but seeing him face to face was like a flash of lightning, and thus she began her freshman year of college, accompanied by her best friend – though it was more than that.
