aubrey lailah
too dangerous to stop, when everyone in paradise has a gun
--------------------------------------------------------------------
- - - - - - Tonight was an immensely big night for Miss Aubrey Lailah Jarrett. For the first time in the now eight months she’d attended Blair Academy, she’d been asked on a date – and moreover, she’d accepted. Aubrey hadn’t even really been on a proper date before, not like the one she was attending this evening. She’d been out with guys to the beach or the park or a club, but never for a meal, or to a movie theatre. Tonight, Micah Jaeger was taking her to the ever so glamorous Ivy Restaurant. She’d never been before, just seen it from the outside and seen the limousines pull up outside, hot celebrity couples occasionally stepping out, with paparazzi all lined up by the doors. Not only the glitz intrigued her, but apparently the food was to die for. Aubrey was very epicurean in her ways, and only took pleasure or satisfaction from the best. Currently, she was satiated with the smitten feeling in her gut, and the excitement that was flooding her veins and nervous system. She was, understandably of course, apprehensive of how the night was going to turn out. Micah had explained to her the day prior that he was taking a vow of celibacy against casual sex, and the hours after that conversation Aubrey had discovered that, actually, it wasn’t such a bad idea. The whole world didn’t revolve around sex and she was sure she could feel something stronger for Micah if she allowed herself to. She was already sort of crushing on him as it was, and if she really got to know him – well, she didn’t want to think about the intensity of the emotions she could feel.
- - - - - - She’d woken at a ridiculous time of seven thirty in the morning, because she was going to prepare herself all day. She’d already called her friend, Felicity, who owned a salon and booked herself in for a full body wax, massage, hair, nails and make up. She’d picked out an outfit which, at first, she’d been cautious of wearing as she felt it was something that was far too well known and almost cliché – it was a little black dress. It was a risqué dress and perhaps was a little short, but Aubrey had long slender legs, a pert ass and would easily pull it off. When she’d awoken, she’d instantly remembered about the night ahead and found herself grinning manically, hyper and happy. She’d showered with a pheromone body wash, which was bound to make Micah more alert to her sensuality. She didn’t even plan on teasing him tonight; she’d behave herself, make small talk and ask him about himself. When she thought about it in depth, they knew nothing much about one another. Micah was the only person in America that knew her darkest secret but when it came to their pasts and childhood and family neither knew much. They didn’t know the types of things that the other loved or what they hated more than anything in the world. She kept imagining him as her actual boyfriend, and her entire body jittered with a feeling she’d not experienced much in the past, except for when she was much younger, when you had those crushes you just couldn’t get out of your head. For a moment she felt like an innocent, semi-pathetic, little school girl all over again.
- - - - - - She was soon finished at the salon, her body had been throbbing with a harsh stinging pain after the wax, but the massage – with pheromone oils once again – soon had the pain extinguished and her body feeling incredible. Her hair was washed, dried and her natural waves were left to their own accord and her nails were given a delightful French manicure and all the time she spoke about her upcoming date. She was back at her dorm room again, and the time was coming up to six. She had one hour to sort out her dress, shoes and accessories then she’d be done and the time would have come to go. He’d be at her door at seven, maybe earlier or maybe later. She slipped on the dress as she stood in her wardrobe closet, looking at the range of shoes. She didn’t want too high a heel because she didn’t want to tower over him, but she did was to look even more slender than usual, so in the end she picked a pair of black patent leather shoes which finished off the outfit nicely. Aubrey quickly glazed her eyes over the jewellery that she owned, but decided to go for none – no necklaces, no bracelets, no earrings and no rings. Her bright blue eyes were outlined by a black eyeliner and mascara, however not heavily, and her lips where glazed with a peachy, neutral lip gloss. The dress was nicely tightened around the wait by a large, faintly pinstriped bow, which was actually part of the dress. The designed dress was strapless, but she was planning to wear it with a long black Gucci coat that would just add an extra sophistication to it. As she looked at herself in the mirror, her excitement almost bubbled over and she squealed. She wasn’t even eighteen and she looked about twenty, but in a good way. She was going for dinner at the Ivy with one hell of an attractive guy and the evening couldn’t get any better.
- - - - - - Settling into Blair had been hard at first. It was a huge culture shock really, moving from Australia to America and being without her family or anyone she knew at all. She’d been really lonely and for the first couple of months was quiet and had no friends. She’d begged her parents to let her go home, but they’d said the academy was for her own good. She’d tried her damn best and started to make some friends. She hadn’t been looking to make male friends or even good girl friends, because she was certainly going home as soon as the year was over, even if her parents said no. But as time passed, she made some really great friends. She decorated her room, and more recently she redecorated it with her growing elegance so now it was blacks, white, teal and only some pink was present. She fixed pictures of her and friends to the wall with nails and she was really comfortable. In fact, she’d even persuaded her parents to let her stay until she was ready to go home. When she met Micah, it was instant attraction. She hadn’t really felt anything for him, deeply, but she’s been so aroused by him and even just a gentle touch from him would send her into ecstasy and make her skin feel like it was on fire. Picking up a perfume she knew Micah liked she gave the pump a squeeze and a spritz of the scent became her aroma for the night. She heard a knock at the door and her heart raced, a smile on her lips and dimples protruding into her cheeks. Making her way to the door she tried to contain her joy, but still opened it with somewhat of a smirk on her mouth.

MICAHKELANJAEGER I can see us holding hands, walking on the beach, our toes in the sand ------------------------------ - - - - - - Throughout the day, Micah had been feeling tremendously nervous. From the moment he’d gotten up that morning, he’d been feeling sick to his stomach. He hadn’t even been able to eat at all because he was so sure he wouldn’t be able to keep it down. It wasn’t generally like him to get that nervous, but with the impending date he was going to have that night with Aubrey, he just couldn’t stop worrying himself. For him, there was a lot to be worried about. Normally, he didn’t tend to worry about impressing anyone because he just tended not to really care what people thought. That wasn’t the case with Aubrey though. Quite frankly, she was completely out of his league in his opinion. That wasn’t what he was worried about though. He knew she liked him and he certainly liked her a great deal more than he was comfortable admitting. What was really worrying him the most was how much he could like her. Micah felt like he was at that point where he had two choices. A huge part of him wanted to break things off with her completely. He could walk away, never see her again, and he’d be just fine, or he could continue seeing her, open himself up to her, and risk getting hurt. Being vulnerable was one of the worst feelings for him, which was what he was starting to feel around Aubrey and also exactly why he was feeling so sick.
- - - - - - Early that morning, Micah had actually managed to sleep in until about eight when Kylee came into his room and started jumping on the bed to wake him up. He’d ignored it for five minutes before slamming her playfully on the mattress and tickling her for a little bit. Normally Micah could not stand be woken up in any kind of way that could startle him awake or something obnoxious like flicking a light on and off. He’d gotten used to such things though because Kylee tended to come in and do just those sort of things in order to get her dad up. No matter how much it actually aggravated him, he was so dead set on being a good dad, he wouldn’t allow himself to get snappy at his daughter for things like that. In fact, it didn’t even really bother him that much anymore because it really wasn’t that big a deal. She was just being a seven year old and having fun. Micah constantly reminded his self of that for fear if he forgot it even for a second he could overreact to something in some way he’d regret and hate himself for. This day had been a little different though because he could seem to get his mind off of the fact he was going on a date with Aubrey. Every time there was silence and he could get a moment to himself, he went right back to being nervous.
- - - - - - For the most part though, the day had gone pretty normal. He and Kylee had breakfast and then Micah put cartoons on for her while he got ready for work. They left around 9:30 and Micah dropped Kylee off at a daycare while he went to work. He really hated leaving her there and would much rather take care of his daughter himself, but he also really needed to work and earn some of his own money. It irritated him to no end to use his dad’s money, something he hoped to get away from completely and hopefully sooner rather than later. Being at work had been a nice distraction from his nerves. He was constantly doing something, often involving heavy lifting. He liked it though. It was an okay job that worked up a sweat, especially in the California heat, and he enjoyed that because he enjoyed physical work. Only being required to work six hours that day, he got off at four, picked Kylee up, stopped at the park on the way home to let Kylee run around and play on the playground, even joining her some, just being a goofball. They didn’t play for very long before he took her home, arriving at about five. That gave him only about two hours to get ready, leave and get there on time, preferably early. Luckily he really only needed an hour to do so, if that.
- - - - - - Once again putting cartoons on for Kylee, he headed back to his room and stripped from his dirty clothes, tossing them into his laundry basket as he made his way into the master bath. Micah was a surprisingly clean person. He definitely didn’t tend to give off that impression, but then you’d see his home, or his car, and they were always pretty damn spotless. With Kylee, it was hard trying to get her to help keep things clean too, but Micah was managing to be patient. He didn’t even like that he was as much of a neat freak as he was, but it was something his father had taught him and done so in such a way that it had become compulsive for Micah. Turning on the water for his shower, he looked back in the mirror for a moment, eyes trailing along the bruises on his rib cage. Since his dad had gotten back and Micah had gone to see him, he’d fallen back into taking his dad’s shit. Only once had Micah turned on his father, even putting him in a coma, but ever since he’d woken up and Micah had kind of taken care of him, the old man wasn’t so bad to deal with. Now that he was at full health again, he was back to his old ways and had even warned Micah that the only reason he’d been able to hurt him so bad, was because his dad had underestimated him.
- - - - - - None of that really mattered. He was tired of it all. He couldn’t care less what his father did to him as long as he was alright enough to take care of his own daughter. Now that he’d talked to Aubrey about not having sex, at least he’d not have to explain the bruises. The last thing he wanted to do was tell her about that secret and he’d hate to have to lie to her about it. He actually wasn’t sure if he even could lie to her. She was completely wrapping him around her little finger and she probably didn’t even know it. With Micah, it wasn’t the easiest thing to pick up on sometimes because of how closed off he tended to be. Aubrey was just amazing to him. Granted, he couldn’t say he knew a great deal about her, but with how often they had been seeing each other, it was hard not to pick up on things. Yes, they had been keeping things casual, but it wasn’t like they only slept together and then would just leave. They’d lie together and watch T.V. or movies. Sometimes he even found himself being goofy with her in a way he couldn’t remember ever being with anyone. All of these things were going through Micah’s mind as he got into the shower, cleaned himself thoroughly, shaved his face, and was out in ten minutes. He dried himself off, used his Tag body spray, and made his way into his bedroom, wrapping his towel around his waist.
- - - - - - His nerves were really starting to get the better of him. All of the thinking he’d been doing only made things worse for him. It was so completely obvious to him just how attached he was getting to this girl and it scared the shit out of him. Even picking out what to wear wasn’t so easy for him. Normally he’d just grab something, but he actually put some thought into it. He had no idea how dressed up she’d get, but from what he’d come to know about her, she always looked stunning and was very classy. Settling on a black pinstripe suite, he dressed quickly, smoothing out the material. Kylee came in just then and asked why he was all dressed up. Micah explained to him that he was going on a date. His daughter seemed a little confused, no doubt thinking something about his mother, but just nodded and went back into the living room to continue watching cartoons. It saddened Micah to see his daughter like that. Her mother had left without a word and Micah was baffled on how to deal with it. He’d even been considering seeing a counselor that could maybe help him out with tips on how to handle the situation. She seemed to like Aubrey quite a bit though, so that made Micah feel a little better.
- - - - - - Before long, the babysitter arrived. She was a wonderful older lady who had in fact cared for Micah himself when he was a Kylee’s age and younger. Micah trusted her a great deal to be as kind and loving to his daughter as she had been to him. Saying goodbye to his daughter with a hug and kiss on the forehead, Micah headed out to his car. It was a silver ‘67 mustang and in amazing condition. No more than fifteen minutes later, he had arrived at Aubrey’s dorm after having picked up a couple small gifts. His nerves were going all over the place, but were slightly calmed due to his worrying for Kylee. Taking a deep breath as he sat in the parked car for a moment, since he was about fifteen minutes early, he got out and headed up to her room. Standing outside her door, he rubbed the back of his neck and cleared his throat, gathering his nerves. Knocking lightly, he couldn’t help but smile. With all his nervousness he hadn’t realized just how excited he was. As the door opened, he stepped in, taking her hands gently in his and looking her over. “Wow,” he told her, eyes meeting hers, moving his lips to say more a few times without success before finally saying, “You look… wow.” She always looked wow really, but there was something a little extra there this night. He wasn’t sure exactly what it was, but he just loved that adorable, sweet smile of hers that somehow was so completely sexy at the same time. “So, you ready to go?” he questioned, his bright blue eyes shining.

aubrey lailah. -----IN HER EYES A CERTAIN LOOK, SO LIKE CANDY .
The day prior to the date, Aubrey had attended her latest photo shoot. Her career was some made fun of, then again it was one that some envied. She was a model, and had been for just a little longer than four years. She loved it herself, the glamour and the fun. The only problem, she felt, was that almost everyone tended to generalize her as an airhead. Aubrey Jarrett was a smart little lady, she was a straight A student, she loved to learn new things and she didn’t make a big fuss if she had to study. The thing was, she’d made such an effort turning her life around that everything else, including learning, seemed so easy and minimal. Unless you’d broken an addiction before you’d know that the feelings you encountered were incredibly strong – and they were every type of emotion. Her modelling contract had almost been broken when her agent had found out she was an addict, and Victoria’s Secret had dropped her for a few months, but promised her she could still be one of their girls if she got her act together and sorted her life out. She did that, and she made everyone proud. Since then, she’d took everything in her stride and nothing had phased her, until tonight. It hadn’t left her mind all day, and to say she was terrified wasn’t far wrong. She hadn’t any idea how to deal with it, and when she’d been at the salon she’d even asked how she was supposed to be. A couple of the women had told her to act this that and the other, but her gay hairdresser had told her to be herself, and all the other girls had then nodded. ‘Tell him what you like, what you don’t and then let him reciprocate.’ He’d told her. So movies, book and music? She didn’t know. These days things were a little different, but she wanted to know him and she wanted him to know her. Everything about her, not just those initial basics.
She liked Micah, really liked him. And it was strange to her, because she’d never liked anyone the way she’d liked him. She wasn’t bothered that they weren’t going to be having sex tonight, because her feelings for him were deeper than that and tonight would give her the perfect opportunity to tell him about all the things he didn’t know. She knew, even though he’d never said anything, he’d not had the perfect past that everyone dreamed of and she knew, also, that he was going to be reluctant to tell her things from his personal life, because so was she. Aubrey clammed up when someone asked her about herself, and she never knew what to say because she didn’t want to tell anyone about her past. It’d come so much of a shock to her when she’d found herself admitting it to Micah. She didn’t ever get that attached to someone or at that close of a friendship. For most of her life, she’d been so against following the crowd and she tried to distance herself as much as possible from cliques. There was some soft prejudice within her and she didn’t befriend people who had very different opinions to her, because then she’d be constantly butting heads with them over issues. But all other times it didn’t matter to her what you looked like or who you were or what you listened to. She had homosexual friends, black friends, asian friends, girls, boys, fat people, stick-thin people – it didn’t matter. They were all people. They were all different personality wise, but they were still good friends. No matter what they'd done in the past.
The relationship that Aubrey owned with Micah was one much different to any she’d had before. It seemed that the majority of people at Blair Academy thought they were based on sex, but there was much more to them than that. Yes, they’d slept together the first night they’d ever met and a part of her regret it but they weren’t simply a benefit to one another. There were days and nights he’d be at her dorm and they’d lay together and simply watched a movie. She’d loved the feeling of his arms around her and the delicate aura around the pair of them. One day they’d gone to the park with Kylee, that was the first time she’d ever met the young girl. Aubrey was good with kids and she could make them happy. Kylee was a lovely little girl, she was physical and very rough and tumble sometimes but that was kids for you – hyperactive and loveable. Anyway, now Aubrey and Micah were going for dinner and they weren’t planning on having sex afterwards. There was a connection, she felt it and she was sure he did also. Normally, Aubrey wasn’t a jealous person – but if she ever caught wind of someone signifying that they had gone all the way with him, she’d have that green monster pop right out of her like a bullet. Gossip infuriated her, but to think of him with someone else, even though she’d said it didn’t, upset her to no end. She actually wondered if it did him, she’d not slept with anyone at Blair other than him but she’d made out with a few people, flirted and the likes. Really, all the she wanted was for their relationship to be exclusive and romantic. They were dating right now, getting to know each other and the likes, that was the first step.
She was very worried though, about how she was going to interact with Kylee if things ever got serious with her and Micah. After all, the girl was not her daughter and she was unsure about how Micah would react to her spending time with her. Her mom had simply upped and left the little girl but she was still the child’s mother and Aubrey could and would never try to be that. Maybe she was over analysing things like always she was only seventeen after all. Sure, Micah was nearly twenty and older and he had a kid and he was a lot more grown up than her but maybe their dates wouldn’t lead to anything, maybe they’d find they hated each other and didn’t want to become partners – let alone anything serious. For a moment her mood disintegrated from her happiness into something more analytical and depressive. She shook herself out of it though, she liked Micah and she was going to enjoy tonight in the hopes that it would lead somewhere. She’d enjoy her meal and afterwards they could go for a drive and carry on talking and it’d be perfect and romance would fill the air and she’d fall even more for him. The thought of it made her sigh with bliss, and her heart race even faster than before. She was so smitten over him, completely falling.
When she opened the door, she immediately swooned over him. She’d had no idea he was going to clean up that well. She’d become accustomed to seeing him in jeans and a tee or something, and it was a look she simply adored but this was something else. He looked so handsome, he smelled incredible as always, and she could even see the nervousness in his eyes, just like the look she must have had. She followed his gaze as he looked at what she was wearing and she giggled, her face feeling a little flushed. “Thank you.” She replied, in a soft tone. “You look so handsome.” She admitted, tugging gently at the front of the suavely pinstriped jacket. “I’m ready as I’ll ever be.” Aubrey told him, as he questioned her readiness to leave for the restaurant. She was even more excited about getting to ride in his car again, as she loved the silver mustang. She stepped out of the dorm, locking the door with her card key and stuffing it into her purse before feeling brave and taking his hand into hers. She didn’t know how he’d feel about that, and she felt so nervously excited that her heart was about to jump out of her throat and onto the floor in front of them. She looked away, biting her lip and stepped into the elevator with him, dying to kiss him but deciding not too. ‘Save it for later.’ A little voice in her head said and she agreed. Try to start out formal, a proper first date with a proper kiss at the end of it. Like their first kiss. From now on in, she was going to forget she’d ever slept with him or at least try. She wanted to do things properly now.
It only took them a few minutes to get to the Ivy, and the car ride was spent just talking about how each others days had gone. She’d told him about her day of pampering and he’d told her he’d had the less glamorous day of strenuous lifting. They parked up the car and walked to the front entrance, a doorman asking for the reservation name. She stood back and allowed Micah to deal with the questions whilst she looked in awe at the surreally expensive looking Ivy. They were ushered to a table for two next to a window, where all the two-seater tables were lined up. She smiled, her dimples making her look as adorable as could be, the waiter gave them menus and then wandered off, leaving them alone. “It’s gorgeous.” She spoke as she opened her menu, eyes fluttering over all the meals. Nothing with garlic, or onion … or anything that would make her smell terrible for the rest of the night. She wasn’t going to order a Caesar Salad like it appeared every other girl in the room had, and in the end she settled for a breast of chicken with a mushroom and white wine sauce. The waited took their orders, and they were both given a glass of champagne, obviously the waiter was clueless they were underage. “So … um …” She started, attempting to make some sort of conversation with him but failing. “I was thinking earlier, I don’t know much about you. Your life, your past, what you want from your future. Tell me about yourself. I want to know.” She flashed him a quick smile.

MICAHKELANJAEGER I can see us holding hands, walking on the beach, our toes in the sand ------------------------------ - - - - - - At the age of twenty-two, Micah was a much different person than he’s been four years prior. Never had he pictured himself dating a girl like Aubrey. Any guy would kill to date a model, but that was hardly what he thought was so amazing about her. Some models could come off so completely full of themselves and Aubrey was nothing like that. She was confident and liked looking her best as often as possible, but she wasn’t stuck up in any way. He just completely adored how much of a sweetheart she was and even more so because he’d known so many chicks that were gorgeous in the same way, but so completely full of themselves. Now, he wouldn’t say she was perfect, no matter how much he really was starting to see her that way. That is just impossible and nobody is, but she was certainly the closest thing to it. Everything about her drove him crazy in the absolute best way. The thing he noticed most was how much he didn’t have to concentrate as much on controlling certain aspects of his personality. When he was with her, he was just plain happy in a way he’d never believed was possible. Not for him. In the past, even in his happiest moments, there were still things about him that never allowed him be completely happy. Perhaps he would never be able to be entirely happy, but Aubrey actually gave him hope that he could be.
- - - - - - Rarely had Micah ever gone on actual dates and when he had, it had usually always ended with hooking up and he’d never really taken them seriously. Things were going to be different with her. He really wanted to show her just how much she had come to mean to him. There had been numerous times throughout the day that Micah would stop to think about how nervous he’d been feeling and he’d chuckle at himself, shaking his head with a bit of a smile. As nervous as he was about everything with Aubrey and where their relationship was going, he’d never been so excited in his life. It was rather silly for him to be nervous, really. Dating was easy for him and he knew how to treat a girl right. Sure, he didn’t have the best track record in doing so except for a few instances, but he knew. That was something Micah had complete confidence in about his self. If Micah made the choice to give his heart to a girl, he could do it wholeheartedly without holding back. He would do everything humanly possible to make that girl happy and try his damnedest to never screw up. Madison had screwed him over, sending him to juvy for a few months before finally confessing that she had lied about the rape accusation. When he’d gotten out, he’d gone to see her. When he had, he’d told her that he was sorry he hadn’t been good enough and that no guy would ever love her like he had. The way things were going with Aubrey, he honestly felt like thanking Madison from the bottom of his heart for taking him for granted. He may not have the most to offer in some ways, but he knew in his heart that not many could love the way he did. Maybe it was too early to be hoping for something like that with Aubrey, but he couldn’t seem to help it.
