The 5 year old boy looked around as if he was scared something was about to pop out of nowhere and attack him, saying back to his mom "Ava said there’s a guy named Brian Peppers under my bed that eats boys named Hunter. That’s MY name, mommy." Aceline wasn’t sure what to laugh at; the fact that her daughter knew who Brian Peppers was or that her son really thought a child molester and nurse groper was under his bed. She would have probably laughed at both, but seeing as that she was too tired to really care right now, she shook her head and said to Hunter "Brian Peppers isn’t under your bed, he’s in Ohio. You can stay with us, though." She scooted over to where she was lying up against Tristan again, Hunter crawling into the bed quickly and taking Ace’s original side. It was technically going to be time for everyone to start getting up in either 15 minutes to an hour anyways, but Ace wasn’t in the mood or had the energy to deal with that.
From the hours of 1 am to 7 am ( 8 or 9 if they were lucky enough ), the Devereux household was pretty quiet and still. With two 5 year old children, another child in her terrible two’s, parents that were probably just a little bit more mature than their own kids but not by much, a monkey, and a middle-aged Spanish woman who’s voice volume was only loud and louder .. what could you expect? Aceline sometimes didn’t like how the only time there was any peaceful moment in her house was pretty much when everybody was asleep, but she had gotten used to the fact that her home and the people who reside inside of it make it seem like a zoo, and really didn’t mind it a whole lot. She would much rather her family be the way that they are instead of one that was always calm, well mannered, anything that she knew would be completely boring, though. A lot of the time however, she did enjoy some relaxation and everything quiet in the house, mainly though when she was trying to sleep. She had been doing a pretty good job at that earlier this morning, but of course, something has to come along and ruin that. At around 6:45 am, Ace slept in bed with her head lying slightly on her husband’s chest while her arm was loosely holding onto his torso, having stayed that way for most of the night until about now, letting go of Tristan and rolling back over more onto her side of the bed, trying to get comfortable again. She wasn’t really awake at the moment but wasn’t completely asleep either, having a strange feeling that there was someone else in the room as well. Aceline slowly began to open her eyes, being greeted with a pair of baby blue ones that were maybe two or three inches away from her face, the young mother slightly startled as she quickly leaned up, looking down at her son.
She really lost count of how many times she has told Hunter not to do that to her, that if he needed something then he should just shake her shoulder a little bit or try to wake her up by saying something to her, not by standing freakishly close to her face and just wait until she wakes up and has the living shit scared out of her. "I need to stay with you and daddy." he whispered to her before she even asked what he needed, Aceline rubbing her tired eyes while saying quietly back to him "What’s wrong with your room?"
When Aceline did wake back up around an hour or two later, Hunter was no longer in the bed with her and the bedroom door was open, Ace guessing that he had gotten up at some point and left. She could already hear the television on and Ava talking although she couldn’t really make out clearly what her daughter was saying, sitting up in the bed and running her fingers quickly through her brown locks while yawning quietly. She looked over her shoulder and glanced down at her sleeping husband, envious of how he was able to sleep like a rock while she could easily be awaken probably just if someone was quietly walking out in the hallway. Ace laid back down on her stomach beside him and pretty much kind of nuzzled her face into the side of his neck while her hand rubbed his arm, her fingers going softly over each muscle while she wished that she could just go back to sleep now and stay this way at least until 2 in the afternoon. The sounds of both her children now talking out in either the kitchen or living room downstairs was what she was hearing though, knowing that she needed to go ahead and get up since it was obvious Rosa wasn’t yet. She left a light kiss on Tristan’s neck as she leaned back up and got out of bed, walking towards their bathroom to get a shower and then dressed since she felt weird walking around the kids and Rosa in just one of Tristan’s basketball t-shirts and her underwear. Although Ace normally tried to use up as much hot water as she could in showers, the one this morning took maybe 15 minutes tops, the 22 year old done and dressed soon enough as she walked downstairs and into the kitchen, seeing all 3 children already sitting there eating and then Rosa, guessing she had been wrong and that the nanny was already up, just for once was being quiet.
"Hey mommy, where do babies come from?" Ava asked the very instant she saw her mother, Ace arching her eyebrow while sitting down at the end of the table, having no clue why that question was suddenly brought up. "Where do you think they come from?" she asked, not really wanting to give her daughter any sort of ‘talk’ when she was 5. Ava flipped her dirty blonde locks over her tiny shoulder and straightened herself in the chair like she was getting ready to explain something important, her voice though kind of hyper and quick as she said "Well. I think a stork, he umm, he drops it down and then, and then, a hole goes in your body and there's blood everywhere, coming out of your head and then you push your belly button and then your butt falls off and then you hold your butt and you have to dig and you find the little baby." The kitchen became a little quiet for a moment after Ava said that, even Rosa looking like she didn’t have anything to say on that. After an awkward silence though, Ace nodded her head, saying blankly to her daughter "That’s exactly right." A very accomplished grin came across Ava’s cute face as she looked over at her twin brother, saying to him "HA, I told you that’s how it works! Just admit already that girls are smart and boys are dumb." Hunter crinkled his nose and gave Ava a grumpy look, questioning to her "So you think daddy’s dumb?" Ava rolled her eyes and said to him as if it were common sense "Daddy isn’t a boy, he’s a daddy. If you were smart like me, which you’re not, then you would know that."
Normally this would be the time that Aceline would get onto Ava about being mean to Hunter, something she did just about a dozen times a day, but she was still a little tired and just the sound of them going back and forth was starting to give her a headache, Ace placing her elbows on the table while looking down and rubbing her temples with her eyes closed. Just a moment later though the arguments between the young twins came to a halt, Hunter saying "I think mommy’s head hurts." Ace opened her eyes and looked back up to see her twins staring at her with concern while Teagan just continued to stare over at Rosa for no real reason but obviously finding some sort of entertainment in it. Before Ace could say anything, Ava leaned across the table and smacked Hunter’s head, exclaiming at him "Look what you did! Your dumb boyness gave mommy a tumor!" Hunter jumped up and opened his mouth like he was going to say something but Ava made it clear she was going to be the only one at the table who gets to talk this morning, turning to her little sister while yelling at her "Teagan, mommy is gonna die now because of Hunter!" The two year old’s eyes widened as she looked over at Ace, her already plump lips pouting more while she looked as if she were on the verge of starting to cry, Aceline quickly saying to the twins but more so to Teagan " I am not going to die, I’m fine." Ava and Teagan were the only ones paying attention to their mother at the moment, Hunter obviously pissed at his twin as he reached over and then smacked her back in the head, Ava whipping her head around angrily at him. "I’m telling daddy that you hit me and you killed mommy!" The 5 year old girl slipped off her chair and began running back towards the stairs to her parent’s room while Hunter chased after her, Ace just sitting there trying to recollect her thoughts. Rosa walked over and picked Teagan up, Ace asking her "Where did I go wrong with this whole parenting thing?" Aceline has known this woman since birth pretty much so she should have expected Rosa’s response to just be in Spanish, Ace understanding what she was saying but still had that small headache so she just shook her head and held her hand up to Rosa to signify that she didn’t want to hear the rest of what she had to say, getting up from the table and walking off like her kids had just done.
That was all earlier this morning, though. Now at the present time, which was a little bit later in the afternoon, Ace was no longer sleepy or feeling like her brain was going to fall out of her head thanks to her kids. Tristan had gotten up at some point, her bets on whenever the twins went upstairs but she wasn’t paying attention to the time really, and she was glad since half the time she felt like he was the only sane one in the house. It was confusing to say that seeing as that both of them did some pretty whacky things whenever the moment arose, but for the most part she thought Tristan was the other normal one in the house. "Babe, you’re doing it wrong, you’re supposed to be letting the girl win!" she said to him while sitting beside her husband on the floor in front of the television in their living room, her thumbs moving around on the controller to their Xbox 360 while she played NBA Live with him. Well, technically they were sort of tied up since Tristan was one point ahead of her thanks to a free throw shot, and her guy had the ball right now, but she doubted she was going to get him to the end of the court to win in time so it looked like Tristan was going to. With maybe 8 seconds left on the game, they had to pause it because the phone was ringing, Ace opting for Tristan to answer it. He was only gone for about 15 seconds maybe, Aceline glancing down at his controller and then over her shoulder to see if he was there. She quickly leaned over and unplugged his controller from the console so he wouldn’t be able to make any of his players do anything once the game started back up, Ace laying it near the console though so it wasn’t noticeable and looking completely innocent once he had come back over. Once they had unpaused the game, fast forward maybe 30 seconds later, and Aceline was laughing at how she managed to get her guy down the court easily since Tristan’s just stood there, finally beating him at NBA Live. Okay, so she cheated and it was obvious that’s the reason why she was laughing, but she had already told her husband beforehand that she wasn’t planning on playing fair.
