RHYS NATHANIEL HOROWITZ, FRIDAY, AUGUST 2008 ( click here for clothes )you are the rock upon which i stand ___________________________________________________ -----It has been a two days since the last time rhys horowitz and his wife had a face to face conversation. this was not because he was avoiding her or anything like that, but because rhys was not allowed inside the hospital where tyger was staying. when tyger went into surgery, rhys was there watching everything along tyger's father. there were no words to describe how scared and nervous he was as he watched the love of his life being cut open like a god damn fish right in front of his eyes. he held his breath during the entire thing, paced back and forth and cracked his knuckles over and over. then, he heard the most horrendous sound, the sound of tyger's heart giving up. the doctors started screaming as they tried to revive the young blonde. this was when rhys horowitz lost it. all he knew was that tyger was dead and that his world would never be the same. banging at the window for tyget to wake up, and punching the wall as hard as he could. tyger's father tried to calm him down, but rhyss just pushed his aside as he continued to destroy his hand on the hospital walls. two male nurses came running towards him and grabbed a hold of his arms, rhys smacked one right on the nose breaking it. the guy started bleeding and started yelling for security. this all happened in a matter of seconds, just seconds. it was then when tyger's heart came back, but rhys was so lost in despair and anger than he didn't even notice this until he was being dragged away. they had to give him an injection to calm him down, a fucking sedative. he woke up two hours later in one of the hospital rooms, were a nurse came in and asked him to leave. the guy destroyed hospital property and assaulted hospital staff, so he had the choice to either leave the premises and not come back until further notice or the hospital would press charges
-----Those two days had been torture, not being able to talk to his wife and tell her how much he loved her. of course, he would sneak in at night to watch her sleep, but he couldn't stay long. it was surprising that her father helped him into the hospital, the man was aware of how much rhys loved tyger and he knew how difficult it was for him to be away from her. it was him who finally spoke on his behalf so the hospital would allow rhys inside the building again. when mr. roberts called him to give him the news, rhys could not be happier. the guy was so happy that he made the decision to get tyger a ring, and propose to her. rhys fucking horowitz was going to buy an engagement ring and ask tyger to marry him.it was true that they were already married, but it was not exactly a dream wedding. the guy was aware of how important the wedding day was for most girls, and he wanted to make that dream come true for tyger. rhys was not really sure what the hell he was doing, he never imagined that this day would come, it was still very hard to believe. his mind was made though, he had absolutely no doubt that tyger was the woman for him, that she was the girl he wanted to grow old with. as he though about stuff like this, he felt ill. not because it was wrong or because he hated it, but because he could not fathom that it was actually on his mind. marriage was never in his plans, it was never something he wanted. somehow tyger changed all that, god...he couldn't even imagine himself being with another woman. finally he understood what noah was blabbering about when he fell for hannah. speaking of noah, rhys thought of calling him to ask him if he wanted to go with him and help him pick a ring. he didn't, and not because he didn't want him there, but because he knew that the guy was not in the mood to deal with something like this when his love life was going down the drain. rhys instead called jasmine, his sister, and together picked up a beautiful ring for tyger
-----If he was going to get through with this, ask tyger to marry her and start their life together, he was going to do it right. there were a few things he needed to get off his chest, he needed to tell tyger about evelyn. rhys met evelyn at a bar, they had a few drinks and ended up sleeping together. this was before rhys left for rehab, but it didn't matter. it was before they decided to make things work, but it didn't matter. it just didn't matter that this happened when they were still unsure about their relationship, it happened either way, and rhys felt like he should tell tyger and start all over, a clean slate. there was no doubt in her mind that she would get upset, this was tyger after all. still, rhys was sure that they could work this out, they had to. sex was a big part of his life and she knew this about him. for as long as he could remember, his life consisted on one night stands, flings, meaningless sex with one girl after another. this was his life, and it was empty. the women, the drugs, his job...it was fucking empty. looking back at how his world was, he was so grateful to tyger for changing it, for opening his eyes and giving him the chance to change. she believed in him, and because of this, rhys started to believe in himself, that he was better than all the shit he was involved in. suddenly, getting high was not as fun anymore. fucking different women every night was not as interesting or as important anymore. tyger gave meaning to his life, and he wanted to show her how much he appreciated it. still, the thought of loosing her because of some stupid mistake scared the shit out of him. yes, the guy who was scared of nothing, was now petrified.
-----After dropping off jasmine at her place, rhys drove all the way to the hospital. he could feel all eyes over him as he walked towards the front doors, into the elevator and through the long hallway that led to tyger's room. her father was there, and when he saw rhys walk in, he stood up and welcomed him with a handshake. tyger was sleeping, probably due to the medication they were giving her. rhys took a stood beside her bed, leaned over and kissed her forehead. as he took a seat next to her, he held her hand and watched as she slept. rhys didn't want to make a sound to wake her, she needed her rest. the palms of his hands were sweaty, the nervousness was getting to him.god, he could feel his heart beating so hard it was almost ripping his chest open. the ring was inside his pockets, he was ready...he knew he was ready. it was crazy to think that he had been married for almost a year now, but it didn't feel like so until after he got out of rehab. every time someone asked him if he was married and talked about, it felt so natural to him. the thought that this was happening with tyger roberts, the girl he used to hate with a passion, it was so amusing to him. people could not believe that this was happening either, specially those who were aware of how those two acted around one another before all this happened. for some reason, it all made perfect sense to rhys. he could not picture this happening with anyone else. he didn't believe in destiny or anything of that nature, but in this case, he made an exception. -------------------------------------------------------- status • unfinished tagged • tyger horowitz notes • i suck at starting words • 1571 currently • with the flu [/blockquote]

Waking up and seeing the sunshine and the face of her father had never been something Tyger had really valued. Sure, as a kid she’d enjoyed it, but it was only now that she realized how much she’d have missed it if she suddenly wasn’t able to do that. Given, she’d been confused as to why it was only her father who was waiting for her, since Rhys had promised that he’d be around too, but she quickly got it all straightened out – with a little help from her father. She knew that her sister was obviously in another room with their mother, and it made Tyger chuckle a little that her dad chose to come see her instead. Though, she had a hunch that her mother had already woken up, and that her dad had already been to see her. All of this had been a few days ago though, and Tyger was looking more and more like her old self every day. By now, her appetite was back to its normal insane level, her skin had lost its yellow tinge, and she was awake and alert to everything that was going on around her. Sure, she still had stitches in her side, and they still had her with an IV in her arm – but it was only one, and it was to make sure her liver took to her system. All in all, Tyger was doing far better than could have been hoped, and she could see that everyone was excited about this possibility. Despite the fact that she irritated the nurses, she was pretty sure they didn’t like having people die on their watch. It might reflect badly on their ability to take care of people and watch out for them. It was a rather hollow reason to be pleased, but it made Tyger smile when she thought about it, and she was enjoying it. She didn’t like the way the drugs made her woozy at times, but she also was so glad that she was alive, that she did almost everything the doctors asked of her – although not quite everything. She was still a pain in the ass, and getting better made it more obvious.
Currently Tyger was working her way through her second whopper, eying the one sitting on the table in front of her. She’d managed to convince her dad to go get her three whopper meals from the burger king around the corner, and she’d been shoving her face since her brought them back. There were still three sets of fries, three drinks and one more burger that she had to work her way through, but from the look of her, she could use the fatty food. She’d lost a lot of weight during the time before and after her surgery, but the doctors had informed her that it was just her getting used to having a new liver, and that she could shove her face for a couple of days – though alcohol and anything but prescription drugs were completely off the menu for another month or so. As much as that irritated her, she accepted it with a certain sort of grace, since she didn’t really feel like killing herself – especially not when her mom had actually done something nice for someone else. Actually, there were a lot of things she didn’t want to leave, namely her husband. Things had never been perfect between them, but the whole fact that he’d taken the time to get along with her dad, and that he’d tried to keep himself calm when Tyger’s mother and sister had insulted him, were all she needed to see, to know that she was making the right choice in trying to work things out with him. She didn’t expect things to be perfect, but she knew that they could only get better from here. They’d been at the worst point possible, and so the only way you can go from there, is up. She didn’t want to show how much she cared about him, but when she was around him, it was impossible to hide. Sure, once she left the hospital, she’d be a little more closed off about it all, but for now she was about as open as a book lying on a table, halfway through the story.
Her mom had managed to convince the doctors to let her leave her room briefly so she could see Tyger, but her sister hadn’t quite been so open. Ty knew how mad Ellie was, but it really didn’t matter to her anymore. She’d never really liked her twin sister, and just because she’d come close to dying, didn’t change the amount of irritation and anxiety that her sister caused her on an almost daily basis. It was nice that her sister was at college upstate, because then Tyger didn’t have to associate with her too often. Her parents lived two towns over, but she never really got around to going home. Her dad was never at home anyway. Her house didn’t feel like a home anymore, and so she’d been living on her own, in a small apartment that she could call her own. Now it seemed though, that she’d actually get to have a home, not just a house, but a home. The phrase ‘home is where the heart is’ had never really hit home for her, simply because she hadn’t felt at home since her sophomore year of high school. When Rhys had gotten back from rehab, he’d asked her to move in with him, but she’d said no, claiming that she needed independence and her own space, but it was all bullshit. Tyger Roberts was just scared out of her mind, at the possibility of living with someone who made her heart stop and start when she saw him, and who drove her absolutely crazy, in every way possible. When death had made it’s appearance in her life, it’d shocked her into realizing a lot of things, one of them being that no matter how she felt, she wanted to be with Rhys, and she wanted to make her home with him. Sure, there were the obvious benefits of being able to sleep with him whenever, but it was also the feeling of security and protection that came with being together. As silly as it sounded, just knowing that he’d come back to the same place as she did, made her a little more reassured about things.
She was impatiently waiting for the point at which she could get up and leave this cramped and stuffy place, and go back to somewhere that she could call home. She knew that Rhys had done what she’d asked and started moving her shit for her. There wasn’t much to move really, considering that all of her furniture was crap, and the only important things were in her own room. Even in her own room, there wasn’t all that much stuff, mostly things left over from her childhood, or things like her laptop and ipod. It was these things that she wanted with her, and nothing else really mattered. Everything else could be sold, as long as she had a few things to herself. In the whole grand scheme of things though, it didn’t really matter, since she spent so much time with Rhys, that she ended up making his place as much hers as it was his. Her stuff was all over his place anyway, and her clothes were scattered around his bedroom as much as her own. Conveniently enough, all her clothes were put away before she went into hospital, so it would be easy for Rhys to grab her stuff like she asked. If nothing else, the look of happiness on his face when she agreed to move in was enough to make it all worthwhile. She knew she’d be on bed rest for another few days at home, and if she had to be somewhere, she wanted it to be somewhere that was a real home, not one with a false sense of hominess. Rhys had made her laugh with his comments about not letting her out of the house for three days or so. She knew he was kidding, to some degree, but she also knew his personality. He was trying his hardest to be good about her sickness and inability to do much, but she could see that he was itching to have his way again. She couldn’t say that she wasn’t tired of being restricted herself, and she was definitely feeling some of his pain.
She shifted her weight as she looked out the window of her room, glad to be wearing her own clothes, since she hated the hospital gowns so much. Her dad had argued it for her, until they agreed, under the condition that she remain on the IV, and had clothes that let them access her side to check on it regularly. Her most comfortable torn jeans rested on her legs, a white wife beater hanging loosely over her torso, covered by her unzipped jacket, blonde locks pulled into a ponytail and out of her face. Blue eyes glanced back as she saw Rhys walk in, a bright smile crossing her lips as she saw him. “Hey!” She spoke brightly and it was clear how much better she was feeling. One glance to her dad asked him silently to give her a little, and she chuckled as he raised his eyebrows, but walked out none the less, closing the door behind him. She looked at Rhys as he walked over, her hand slipping into his, pulling him down so she could kiss him gently, lips pressed against his for only a moment. It was hard to just sit around and not be able to show her affection in her usual way. She slid herself over slightly, letting him sit down on the edge of her bed, swinging himself up so she could rest herself in his arms the way she enjoyed so much. Her lips pressed against his again, arms wrapping around his neck, tongue brushing his as she felt his hand sliding up her waist slowly. She was so tired of sitting around and doing nothing, that this was, almost heaven. Sure, she wouldn’t let it go that far, but she wanted to enjoy herself a little before she relaxed and went back to listening to her doctors. As his hands moved against whatever skin they could reach, she had to thank god that they’d taken off her heart monitor. The way her heart was hammering away in her chest right now, it would’ve given her way almost immediately. It was hard to keep herself from locking her door and just ignoring her doctors’ orders.
Finally she focused enough to push his hands away, reluctantly pulling her lips away from his, grinning playfully as she spoke, “I know, it’s not fair of me to wind you up like that, but I’ve been so neglected for two whole days!” She laughed, letting go of his hands, letting her arms twist around him comfortably, head resting against his chest as she forced her breathes to even out and her heart’s rhythm to go back to it’s steady beating. Finally she opened her mouth to speak again, logical words coming out this time, her voice cool and calm instead of hyped up and playful. “Nice to see my dad managed to get you in, I was beginning to feel neglected. Anyway, so what’s the look on your face about?” She chuckled at his reaction, speaking calmly, shrugging slightly as she did so. “Come on, you didn’t look angry, but you looked like something was on your mind. I know you better than you like to admit. So, you gonna tell me, or do I have to be super mean and torment you until you tell me?” She chuckled again, only a little surprised to see how her mood picked up when he suddenly appeared. She wasn’t worried by the look on his face, mostly because it wasn’t creased with worry like it had been whenever he came to see her before her surgery had happened. It was more contemplative, a little nervous for some reason, but mostly just glad. She knew that how glad she was to see him, had no comparison as to how glad he was to see her. She had ways of keeping an eye on him from her hospital room, but he had no way of knowing how she was doing. Her dad had even joked that Rhys had run up his own phone bill with the amount of calling her did, just to see how Tyger was doing, and to make sure nothing had happened. It was a little insane, but it was also quite sweet, and Tyger was quite amused by his silly antics. tagged for • rhys horowitz. word count • 2150. post notes • awww, poor bby. post status • finished. current music • faded beauty queens - the thrills.
